Certain situations require that your clients receive a refund on an invoice they’ve paid. To ensure your client gets their money back, it’s important to know how the Due online invoice and payments platform can facilitate refunding an invoice payment. This tutorial walks you through the steps to refund an invoice payment.
Open Due Account
Start the refund process by opening your Due account.
Have Client and Invoice Information Available
Gather all the information you will need to refund the invoice payment. This includes client name, invoice number, and payment details.
Select Payments Menu
Once you are signed in to your Due account and have all the information you need to process the refund, choose Payments from the menu on the left side of your screen.
From the Payments screen, you can search invoices by invoice number, client name, or date range of invoice.
Additionally, you can use this screen to look up the bank transfer or e-commerce transaction number for the invoice payment.
Begin the Refund Process
You can search for transactions using the transaction number, amount, or client name. Once you find the transaction for the invoice you need to refund, follow the steps on the screen to begin the process of requesting a refund through Due’s payment transaction service. The refund process may take up to three to five business days before the client can see the refund in their bank account.
To see refund totals, go to your Dashboard by selecting it from the menu on the left side. Here, you will see the refunds and chargebacks that you have incurred.
Do Refunds From All Devices
You can refund an invoice payment from signing into your Due account on your desktop, laptop, or mobile device.
